The guidelines/conditions for eligibility and online application are available at www.minorityaffairs.gov.in/. Under “Central Scheme to Provide Interest Subsidy” (CSIS) on education loans to economically weaker sections (EWS) students, the initiative provides full interest subsidy during the period of moratorium on education loans taken by EWS students for pursuing any of the approved courses of studies in technical/professional streams from recognised institutions in India. CSIS aims to check the existing geographical imbalance with regard to gross enrolment ratio in higher education institutions. The guidelines for eligibility and filling up of online application are available at www.education.gov.in/. Under “Nai Udaan”, there will be support for minority students clearing prelims conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), state public service commissions and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to adequately equip them to compete and to increase the representation of the minority in the civil services. CHICAGO (AP) — Sam Darnold threw for 90 of his 330 yards in overtime to set up Parker Romo's game-ending 29-yard field goal , and the Minnesota Vikings outlasted the Chicago Bears 30-27 on Sunday after giving up 11 points in the final 22 seconds of regulation. Darnold threw two touchdown passes, Jordan Addison caught eight passes for a career-high 162 yards and a touchdown, and T.J. Hockenson had 114 yards receiving for the Vikings (9-2), who remained one game behind Detroit in the rugged NFC North. Caleb Williams threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns for the Bears (4-7), who lost their fifth straight and fell to 5-18 in one-possession games under coach Matt Eberflus, who is 14-31 in 2 1/2 seasons. Minnesota appeared to have the game in hand, leading 27-16 with 1:56 left after Romo kicked a 26-yard field goal. But the Bears weren’t finished. Deandre Carter made up for a muffed punt that led to a touchdown in the third quarter with a 55-yard kickoff return to the 40. Williams took it from there, capping an eight-play drive with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Keenan Allen. A 2-point conversion pass to DJ Moore made it 27-24 with 22 seconds remaining. The Bears recovered the onside kick and Williams hit Moore over the middle for a 27-yard gain to the 30 before spiking the ball. Cairo Santos made a 48-yard field goal as time expired. Chicago won the coin toss, but Williams was sacked for a 12-yard loss on second down, leading to a three-and-out. The Vikings took over at the 21, and Darnold led a 10-play drive, overcoming a sack and two penalties. Darnold connected with Hockenson for a 29-yard completion that put the ball on the 9. He took a knee and then Romo nailed the winner. Darnold surpassed his previous season high of 19 touchdown passes with a 2-yarder to Addison on the first play of the second quarter, and he made it 14-7 with a 5-yard score to Jalen Nailor late in the first half. He completed 22 of 34 passes. Aaron Jones ran for 106 yards and a score for the VIkings. Williams was 32 of 47 with a 103.1 passer rating in his second straight solid performance since Thomas Brown replaced the fired Shane Waldron as offensive coordinator. Only one more half stands between La Salle and the win they were favored to collect coming into this afternoon. They have jumped out to a quick 42-33 lead against Temple. La Salle came into the match with some extra motivation after the loss they were dealt the last time these two teams faced off. We'll see if they're able to flip the script or if it'll just be more of the same. Temple Owls @ La Salle Explorers Current Records: Temple 4-2, La Salle 5-2 When: Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 4 p.m. ET Where: John Glaser Arena -- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania TV: ESPN Plus Follow: CBS Sports App Online Streaming: Catch select College Basketball matches on Fubo (Try for free. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard. Last Saturday, La Salle didn't have too much trouble with Stetson as they won 92-77. Among those leading the charge was Corey McKeithan, who went 8 for 15 en route to 27 points plus five rebounds. His performance made up for a slower contest against UIC last Friday. Another player making a difference was Mac Etienne, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Meanwhile, Temple beat Massachusetts 87-80 on Saturday. Temple got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamal Mashburn Jr. out in front who had 26 points. Mashburn Jr.'s evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 22.4 points. Steve Settle III was another key player, scoring 12 points. Even though they won, Temple struggled to work together and finished the game with only five assists. That's the fewest assists they've posted since back in February. La Salle's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Temple, their win bumped their record up to 4-2. Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: La Salle has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 39.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Temple struggles in that department as they've been averaging 37.2. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge. As for their next game, La Salle is expected to win a tight contest, barring any buzzer beaters. This contest will be their eighth straight as the favorites (so far over this stretch they are 4-3 against the spread). La Salle is a slight 1.5-point favorite against Temple, according to the latest college basketball odds . The oddsmakers were right in line with the betting community on this one, as the game opened as a 1.5-point spread, and stayed right there. The over/under is 150.5 points. ONE Gas Issues 2025 Financial GuidanceEknath Shinde health update: Shinde, who had travelled to Delhi to attend a high-level Mahayuti meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J P Nadda, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar, returned to his hometown in Dare village, Satara, following the meeting. His sudden return and subsequent illness have fuelled speculation about dissatisfaction within the alliance. New Delhi: Amid the ongoing uncertainty over the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra, caretaker CM Eknath Shinde has been reported unwell. His family doctor, Dr RM Patre, confirmed that Shinde is suffering from a viral infection and fever, with his temperature reaching 99°F. “He developed a throat infection due to the cold, and treatment is ongoing at home. He has been on antibiotics and saline. His condition has improved significantly, and he even had a conversation with us today. A team of four doctors is monitoring him, and he is expected to return to Mumbai tomorrow,” said Dr Patre while talking to news agency ANI. Team of four doctors monitoring Shinde Despite the Mahayuti alliance securing a landslide victory in the recent Maharashtra assembly elections, the question of who will assume the Chief Minister’s role remains unresolved. It has been seven days since the results were announced, with no official declaration from the BJP-led alliance. The alliance, comprising the BJP, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), won 230 of the 288 assembly seats, far exceeding the majority mark of 145. However, negotiations over power-sharing appear to be causing delays in announcing the new leadership. Key Mahayuti meet cancelled in Mumbai Shinde, who had travelled to Delhi to attend a high-level Mahayuti meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J P Nadda, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar, returned to his hometown in Dare village, Satara, following the meeting. His sudden return and subsequent illness have fuelled speculation about dissatisfaction within the alliance. Reports suggest that the scheduled Mahayuti meeting in Mumbai had to be cancelled, further intensifying rumours of discord. However, Shinde’s Shiv Sena faction has refuted claims of any discontent, attributing his absence solely to health concerns. The BJP emerged as the largest party in the elections, securing 132 seats, while Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Pawar’s NCP won 57 and 41 seats, respectively. Despite this overwhelming mandate, the delay in naming the Chief Minister has led to speculation of power struggles within the alliance. Click for more latest India news . Trump viewed the stock market as a report card in his first term and watched its performance closely. A negative reaction by the market to his policies could prompt a re-think by the administration. One market strategist says new tariffs could spur a negative stock-market reaction. With President-elect Donald Trump set to begin his second term in January, the stock market could be an important check on the decisions he ultimately makes. Trump's ability to enact new policies has been greatly enhanced with Republicans in full control of Congress, and he's already been exerting pressure on lawmakers to fall in line with his agenda. Those members of Congress appear keen to play ball . The market, therefore, might be an important counterbalance to Trump's control of Washington. If his past tenure as president is any indication, he will be alert and sensitive to negative market reactions to his policies. During Trump's first term, he showed that he viewed the stock market as a real-time indicator of how he was doing, taking credit when it was up and diverting blame when it was down . Trump "demonstrated a keen focus on the stock market as a 'scorecard' for his administration's success," Mark Malek, chief investment officer at Siebert, told Business Insider. Perhaps the best example of this came on March 13, 2020. Trump sent the late Fox News host Lou Dobbs an autographed Yahoo! Finance chart of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which had soared nearly 2,000 points that day in response to Trump declaring COVID-19 a national emergency . The moment demonstrated how Trump views the market's relationship to the president's performance, and observers say it's possible that if he were to announce or enact policies that spark a sharp decline in stocks, he could adjust his approach. Yardeni Research strategist Eric Wallerstein told Business Insider that certain policies that would add to the fiscal deficit and send bond investors into a panic might qualify as an event that could prompt a rethink from the administration. "Yields would blow out, the stock market would respond unkindly to that, and then maybe he would reverse course." That view echoed Jeremy Siegel's, with the Wharton professor noting shortly after the election that the President-elect will probably tread lightly when it comes to the markets. "Both the bond market and the stock market are going to be really big constraints on many of Trump's programs," Siegel said. This dynamic is top of mind for investors heading into next year given that some of Trump's campaign promises, like mass deportations of immigrants and universal tariffs of 10%-20% on imports, could be met with dismay by stock investors. That's because economists say the proposals could spark a rebound in inflation and limit the Federal Reserve's ability to keep cutting interest rates. "The market reaction is likely to be quite negative to a significant ratcheting up of tariffs," Sonu Varghese, global macro strategist at Carson Group, told Business Insider. "President Trump probably sees the stock market as a report card on his performance, and so presumably, a negative reaction in markets may prompt a tempering of proposals." For his part, Trump has said that his proposals would not influence US prices. "I am going to put tariffs on other countries coming into our country, and that has nothing to do with taxes to us. That is a tax on another country," he said in an August speech. There's another reason the stock market could serve as one of the few checks on Trump's power while in office next year: swings in the market could impact his own wealth. "Given Bloomberg's estimate of his net worth at approximately $6 billion, it is reasonable to assume that a portion of his wealth is sensitive to market movements. This financial exposure may further incentivize him to avoid policies that could destabilize the markets," Malek said. So, if Trump ultimately wants to see the stock market rise during his presidency, his campaign promises of massive tariffs and immigrant deportations may have to be watered down to avoid the collateral damage, sources said. "I think any president wants to enact policies that are good for the markets," Wallerstein said.Airbnb, Inc.
